Healing the burn

Ha!! That title could be the start of so many topics really. This time it's very literal though. I have some pretty deep subjects I could write about, but I'm keeping it light for right now. I wanted to share a natural burn solution. My youngest lil munchkin grabbed a hot cast iron skillet 2 days ago while I was cooking in the kitchen. I heard his hand, behind me, sizzle. Oh man I felt bad. I instantly grabbed my whipped coconut oil with vitamin E (I totally made it. Word.) & mixed it with our Manuka honey (crazy strong raw honey) & put it on the spot that was burned. It was the area on his palm under his thumb. It was apparent at the time. I bandaged it up & the crying stopped less than a minute later. The honey acts as a topical pain killer on top of a healing agent:) He went on with his day playing in the dirt. I had him sleep with it wrapped up too. The next day, yesterday, I took it off. NO blister or burn marks. You see up close where it was burned, but I had to take a picture.Still hard to see and that's a good thing!

Now I have to add that I've burned myself & used it with red ant bites. With both situations I used on only half of my "boo boos" & it is insane how the honey alone works.

Anyway, short & sweet. I wanted to share.

Caring Bridge

This the website for Paul. Hopefully we will soon have positive stuff to post on there.

I spoke with him yesterday. We had a great conversation. I won't get all silly & forget that talk is just talk. It's the "walk" that is important. I told him how I was feeling and that I miss him. The "him" that was my home. He agreed. Said he misses that as well. He says he really does want to fight. He admitted that he needed to be in a more controlled environment. He wants to try the Gerson Therapy http://www.gerson.org/  http://www.Gersonretreat.com/Gerson_Retreat_Hawaii/Price_Sheet.html
out. While looking for the link to the Gerson Institute, I found thie other link to Hawaii. Before now, I thought there was only a place in Mexico & Hungary. The price is sooooooo doable too!! Anyway, both my boys are done playing and need their mommy.

Rise In Ingested Chemicals

Here is just an example of why I & a lot of other people believe there has been such a rise in ADHD, autism, tic disorders, OCD, etc. This is an example of how things are different...

Oh Honey

So, I just have to share that honey is a SWEET painkiller. Yes, I can be very punny;) I had surgery over a month ago to get rid of my popeye's elbow...bursitis. Well, a month late my body started rejecting the sutures put on the inside of my wound. Finally it became infected. I was using hydrogen peroxide, then Aquaphor on top of that. The infection continued to get worse. I went to see the surgeon yesterday to make sure it wasn't a staph infection...nope. He did say he could give me antibiotics just to be safe. No thank you. Anyway, it was hurting like hell & looking HORRIBLE, so I tried putting some organic Georgia honey on the wounds that were "spitting out" the sutures. I then put bandages over that. OH MY GOSH! The pain started going away. I really should have taken before & after pictures. It's amazing. Overnight the healing sped up as well. I've used honey on little cuts, scrape & burns, but nothing so serious yet. I'm stoked! I need to take a picture of it now, at least:) After the hubby wakes up...It is my elbow & all.

Feingold "Diet"

sooo not part of the Feingold program, but it was the last time I used fake crap. (in May)
I REALLY need to start stage 1 of the Feingold Diet. I also need to learn more about artificial additives. Seems even the "natural" flavorings/colors can  be harmful to some children. I'm sling baby steps & that is all I can really handle right now. I'm so ready to get the elimination part over with though  . It's crazy to think something as healthy as an apple or almonds can cause such a negative reaction in some kids' brain. Time to get on it & I'll keep updating while I figure it all out;)
